Opel has taken on the winner of last year's Car Design News – Opel/Vauxhall Interactive Design Competition, Victor Uribe, to work as the latest addition to its creative design team. Uribe, a Transportation Design graduate from Istituto Europeo Di Design in Turin, Italy, emerged as the winner in the exterior design category for his submission, ‘Lounge in Motion', and won himself a six-month internship at the Opel/Vauxhall's European Design Studio in Rüsselsheim, Germany. Following on from its Geneva motoshow debut, Opel/ Vauxhall have announced that the Zafira Tourer is to head into production. Retaining much of the concept’s overall design, the new Zafira Tourer is heralded as a ‘quantum leap’ from its manufacturers. Berman SpA, an OEM parts and genuine accessories designer and supplier, will hold the 7th edition of its AutoStyle Design Competition on October 14th and 15th in the company's home city of Mantua, Italy. Held in Polirone Abbey in San Benedetto Po, the two day workshop sets the stage for members of the automotive industry to evaluate and better understand the processes of research and experimentation in the creation and evolution of car models.
